#GlobalCV: A conversation about travel and its place in career development
Have you had a travel experience that has helped shape your character, worldview or career aspirations? We want to hear from you!
Here at YOA, we see travel as a real opportunity to educate, upskill and inspire young people to become active global citizens and make their mark on the world. So, this September, we want to celebrate the endeavours undertaken by young Australians both here and abroad by running the #GlobalCV campaign.
Get involved by entering our photo-story competition: simply share a photograph and short description of your significant travel experience, to any of our social-media platforms. Use #GlobalCV and make sure its public so we can find you!
If you’re stuck for ideas, consider sharing an entry under one or more of these categories:
#GlobalNetworks: Share a photograph of a person or group of people who inspired you
#GlobalEducation: Share a photograph about an overseas study or exchange experience
#GlobalImpact: Share a photograph about an impactful work or volunteering experience
Don’t forget to tag us! Our social-media handles are:
Competition runs throughout September. Entries will go into the draw to win a selection of books and travel journals courtesy of Random House Publishing and Inspirationery, as well as the chance to be featured on our social-media platforms and published on our website.
So what are you waiting for? Share your story today!
National Youth Week – Australia says thanks
With so much focus on where we’re heading next, we sometimes forget to thank those who’ve helped us get to where we are today. Our families, teachers, mentors, employers and friends – the people who see something in us and push us even further to succeed, or simply offer a helping hand when we need it most.
As part of 2015 National Youth Week, we want to say thank you to all those who’ve helped get us to where we are: to those who have given us the opportunities to learn, grow and dream a little bigger; to those who see the power, passion and potential of youth; and to those who give us the confidence to push the boundaries of whatever we thought was even possible.
To celebrate, Young Opportunities Australia awarded one lucky person return flights to Melbourne to visit Thankyou HQ for a tour of their office and the opportunity to meet some of their awesome team. Thankyou is an inspiring social enterprise that exists to fund development projects through life-changing products. The winner also received a Thankyou prize pack full of their scrumptious products. Stay tuned for our upcoming blog!
